Old Crows

In "Old Crows," I invite you into a world where crows are more than birds, and purses more than accessories. Reflecting on power dynamics and linguistic reclamation "Crows by Any Other Name" serves as a reminder that words shape how we construct reality. Sassy crows stand in judgement over a collection of "politically correct" terms, cheeky euphemisms and well-meaning peer suggestions I collected during senior’s days at Walmart. In "How to Tell a Crow by Her Purse," each purse is a biography –dreams, adventures, and the occasional misplaced car keys. As a metaphor for the complexities of identity, they're as unique and quirky as the crows who claim them. These crows aren't just claiming these purses, they're making a statement.
