Selected Works: A Sense of Place
These works are more than just creative endeavors. They speak of place as something that both exists outside our windows, and in the interior landscape of our minds, inflected with memory, longing, and nostalgia. Through pieces like "Numinous," “Glorious” and "Poetics of Space," I capture the beauty of the Shuswap. "Vanishing: Paper's Toll" and "When It's Gone…," with their tangible expression of our excesses, provoke contemplation on the formidable environmental challenges we face. The "Quilt" series pays homage to women as custodians of history, weaving fragments for restoration. "Still Life: Interrupted" series confronts genetic modification and food insecurity. "After the Fires" and "K2" are poignant reminders of environmental devastation that was too close to home. Over time, they collectively represent my journey into the intertwined nature of identity and the world.
